Moving !

So we will be moving next month & I am excited! Finally no squishing everything into one space! oi.... I have been planning/obsessing over how we will personalize the new space and I've decided on the 3 main sections: Living, Work, Bedroom.

Here are some of the "inspiration" photos I've been collecting. I'm trying to capture a general color scheme & style, not copy object by object.

LIVING AREA inspiration : light, relaxed & handmade.

Realistically I know our new place isn't going to be nearly AS amazing but I wanted these general themes for the different areas and am aiming to create a more thoughtful & personal space to live/work in. :]

Stargazing

Husby & I went to Joshua Tree to stargaze & day camp. We fire cooked steak & greens (yummy) and froze our butts off peering into the telescope & taking photos. It was extremely cold & dry.

Anyhow I got some cool star shots:

Astronomical perspective

An actual photo taken by Cassini Orbiter, of a planet in our solar system: Saturn. when the sun is illuminating it from behind. hello gorgeous.

If you click for larger view and put your nose to the screen you can see a tiny speck within the 2nd largest outer ring in the mid-upper left, is our planet earth.

Astronomers have the most exciting job in the world.

I'm super envious of the century that will be able to travel the galaxies & communicate with or observe other life forms (maybe within our galaxy?). I'm convinced, if we exist there's got to be other life forms tucked away somewhere amongst the trillions & trillions of planets out there. Some may have advanced way beyond us... so much can happen in 13 billion years.

humanity is progressing way too slow... :|

hero and pinky. I don't know why but they would jump in the box several times a day and look at me like, "so when does the ride start?" we ended up making them a cardboard house with windows. They like it.

Country house

Dreaming of a rustic white country house in a green green land.

must have sun room or covered back porch with a gorgeous nature view. like green hills and trees, maybe a lake.

neutral woodsy palette on ivory with open, airy spaces.

a little bit shabby and lived in is nice..

^this space is to die for... I'd keep it more neutral though...

and how adorably romantic is this?

New favorite movie! What makes it more significant personally is that it catalogs the exact spots that my boyfriend and I first hung out, went for walks, and sat at to take in the views (minus the bums and pigeons). Same seats, same view, same bar, same fountain, same parking lot rooftop view. It was almost spooky.

locations beautifully depicted here. I also love the scene where he's in his apt. and it's raining at night. L.A. doesn't look half bad when you can't see the bums and pigeons and can't smell the urine.

That aside, it's a really good movie. It's bittersweet and reminded me of moments from my past. some pretty funny moments too. I love the characters.

Also, I LOVED what they were wearing throughout the movie.
He was old school vintage prep, she was 40's flair retro. Adorable.
